Schon Custom Cues came into existence in 1981. Terry Romine Sr. and Robert Runde made cues for 10 years. Schon Cues produced one cue per week when they first began. They promoted their cues at various tournaments. Robert decided he was going to retire 1986. Terry Romine Sr. wasn't done perfecting pool cues yet. Richard Clarke was brought into design a new line of pool cues. We make our custom cues using a variety of exotic hardwoods. Tulip wood, bloodwood, ebony, rosewood, purple heart, and silkwood are just some of our favorites. To ensure top quality product, we hand select the wood which met our high requiements. We have beautiful, finely crafted cues that are popular around the world. Speciality inlays, silver rings, and other exotic materials are well executed in our highly finished cues. We have a miniscule output, sometimes going 2 weeks without actually finishing any cues. I frequently hear the all knowing term “production cue” applied to our cues with an implied sneer. The fact is that we are one of the oldest custom cuemakers in the world with a total staff today of 5 people. I personally design, finish and test every cue myself. Everyone here is a full time craftsman. The only thing we do is make cues...
